a good post AND i learned something. thanks tumbrl
at the beginning of this summer i said i would never wear a crop top without something high waisted but let me tell you I am now free and my tummy is adorable
I think a lot of curvey girls think they can wear a crop top and cant but you really pulled it off
I’m upset that you think because you complimented me, it is okay to put down other people who choose to wear crop tops and are not thin in the same sentence. Anyone can wear crop tops if they feel comfortable wearing them, not just those you deem “thin” enough. Not just those you see as “curvy” in the right ways. Anyone can wear them no matter what their size. If they are comfortable in the crop top then they are pulling the crop top off. There isn’t some sort of fucking weight limit on these shitty half shirts that they charge too much for because they are trendy. This sort of attitude that says “curvy girls think they can dress like skinny girls but they can’t!” is the reason why I was not comfortable wearing crop top at the beginning of this summer. I didn’t think I was thin enough to pull it off without people looking at me like “that fat girl shouldn’t be wearing a crop top.” I was too embarrassed to wear them in fear of that. I was uncomfortable with the idea of people rolling their eyes at the curvy girl with their stomach out and people whispering about how I am too big to “pull it off.” Telling me that I “pull it off” when most other curvy girls can’t is not a compliment. The more that I think about it, the more I feel it is a backhanded insult to me and many others. Please reevaluate the language and words you use and think about how saying something like this might effect others. Stop trying to police what people put on their bodies just because you can’t wrap your head around the idea that someone over a size 6 thinks they look good in a crop top and wants to wear them. Stop trying to police what people wear in general.
I for real do not have the energy to read any of that but you still look good ;)
tl;dr i don’t want to hear your shitty backhanded compliment about how i “pull off” this look as a curvy girl when other curvy girls don’t it’s bullshit and you can leave
